Fashion Design Institut

The FDI, based in Düsseldorf, is one of the most innovative design schools in Germany and offers the degree programs' International Fashion Design', 'International Fashion Journalism', 'Fashion Marketing+Management'. The courses are state-recognised. The Fashion Design Institute Düsseldorf was founded in 2008 with the aim of educating absolutely high-quality young people. This is done by constantly adapting the curriculum to the demands and wishes of the industry. So far, all flexible graduates have found a job within 9 months.

Prominent guest lecturers (Versace, Missoni, Philipp Plein etc.) and atelier visits (Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Lobb etc.) are planned every year and help to make contacts and keep up to date. The study programme is very practical and adapted to the global requirements of the fashion industry. Important study contents are Pattern construction, technical sewing implementation, business start-up, and media-supported presentation. In part, the areas of 'Business Administration / Marketing and Management' are trained by Harvard (USA). The school pays special attention to the comprehensive support of each student and the development of an individual design and artistic style.
